Dredging and Master Plan For White Rock Lake
WHITE ROCK LAKE
Dredging White Rock Lake is one of Councilwoman Paula Blackmon's top priorities. Demonstrating her commitment, she successfully secured $20 million from the 2024 City of Dallas Bond vote and additional funds from the federal government. This funding marks a significant step towards the lake's restoration, addressing sediment buildup and improving water quality.

Dallas Fentanyl Strike Force
FIGHTING FENTANYL
In response to growing concerns over Fentanyl in Dallas County, Paula spearheaded the creation of a Fentanyl Strike Force. The Strike Force secured funding that put more Narcan (a drug that reverses opioid overdoses) in Dallas police patrols, and allowed for the purchase of equipment that can detect Fentanyl in confiscated drugs. Through this work, the Dallas Police Department also became a participating agency of the national Overdose Detection Mapping Application Program, providing access to vital data on overdose hotspots.

Created Dallas Fentanyl Strike Force: Led the charge for the City of Dallas to join with the Dallas County District Attorney, Dallas Police and Fire Chiefs.
